The 2024 MAMA Awards marked its 25th anniversary with a grand celebration, kicking off on November 22nd (KST) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles before continuing over two days, November 22nd and 23rd, at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan. The event honored K-pop’s finest with unforgettable performances and well-deserved wins.

SEVENTEEN took home five trophies, including two grand prizes: Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The group also secured wins for Best Male Group, Super Stage, and Fan’s Choice Male Top 10.

Hoshi expressed gratitude to their fandom in his acceptance speech, Carats. “Thank you for making us Artist of the Year. The first grand prize we received last year after eight years symbolized, ‘Don’t give up, and you’ll make it.’ This year, these two awards encourage us to keep moving forward as SEVENTEEN,” he vowed.

aespa also dominated the night, claiming Song of the Year for their hit track “Supernova” as well as Best Female Group, Best Dance Performance Female Group, and the newly introduced Best Choreography award. Winter took to the stage to thank their fans, MYs, saying, “Thank you so much for giving us so much love this year. We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the year, including our SM family. We love you!”

G-Dragon was awarded the inaugural Music Visionary of the Year honor and brought the audience to their feet with a powerful performance. Reuniting with Taeyang and Daesung, Big Bang delivered a mix of classics—including Fantastic Baby and Bang Bang Bang—and G-Dragon’s latest tracks “Home Sweet Home” and “Power.”

Reflecting on his journey, G-Dragon shared, “I first stood on the MAMA stage in 2007, and this marks my comeback in seven years. I’ve been with MAMA for 17 years, and I’m thankful for this award, which will make this meaningful day an even better memory.”
