The Korean indie music scene is mourning the sudden loss of Mo Su Jin, the vocalist for the duo Acoustic Collabo.
Her agency, Panic Button, confirmed the tragic news on January 27th. “Acoustic Collabo vocalist Mo Su Jin passed away on January 25th,” the agency stated.
Respecting the wishes of the bereaved family, the agency announced that the specific cause of death will not be disclosed. They also issued a plea to the public to respect the family’s privacy. “We respectfully ask that you refrain from groundless speculation or the spread of rumors,” the statement read.
The funeral will be a quiet, private service attended only by family, relatives, and close acquaintances. “We hope everyone will mourn quietly so that the deceased’s final journey may be peaceful,” the agency added.
Mo Su Jin had been active as the vocalist for Acoustic Collabo since 2019, performing alongside guitarist Kim Seung Jae. Known for her distinctive and emotional voice, she had recently begun a new chapter in her career. Last year, the duo signed with Panic Button and announced their return to activities following a legal dispute with their previous agency, making the news of her sudden passing even more heartbreaking for fans.
