Sun Hengyu, a former Boys II Planet contestant who was recently hailed as a hero for intervening in an on-street assault, is now clarifying the details of the incident after a TV news program inaccurately reported on his actions.
The TV show Crime Chief recently covered the story and reportedly praised Sun Hengyu for subduing the assailant with a “chokehold.” However, the trainee himself has now corrected the report, stating that he did not use such a technique.

This aligns with the detailed account he gave on a recent Instagram Live. He explained that his primary goal was to de-escalate the situation and prevent anyone from getting seriously hurt. He specifically noted that he had to stop another bystander from applying a Jiu-Jitsu move that could have broken the assailant’s ankle. “I just wanted nobody to get hurt, that’s why I went to help,” he stated.
