BTS’s Jungkook has stirred up controversy within HYBE after posting a message in support of NewJeans.
On September 14th, Jungkook took to his dog’s Instagram account, posting a photo of his pet Jeonbam with the caption “Artists are not guilty.” He added emojis of a flexing arm and the colors blue, pink, yellow, green, and purple—symbolic of NewJeans’ Powerpuff Girls-inspired theme—clearly showing his support for the group.
This post quickly stirred up HYBE’s employee board on the anonymous workplace app Blind. One HYBE employee shared Jungkook’s post and expressed, “It makes me feel even more bitter. What have we been working for?”

As the post caused heated discussion both inside and outside the company, HYBE’s Big Hit Music issued a statement, clarifying, “Jungkook’s post was made with the thought that in any case, young artists should not be dragged into disputes or used as a shield.”
Jungkook later added another post on Instagram, stating, “Don’t use them,” further emphasizing his stance.
The situation escalated when it was revealed that some HYBE employees had been slandering former CEO Min Hee Jin, NewJeans, and Shin Woo Seok of the Dolphiners Films on Blind, drawing backlash from NewJeans fans.
