BTS’s V has spoken up with a candid message about fan behavior and public safety.
On July 28th, V interacted with fans in real time on Weverse, BTS’s official fan communication platform. During the livestream, he addressed recent safety concerns during his airport arrival, noting that he wasn’t even able to pose for photos due to the crowding and chaos.
“The airport doesn’t belong to us. It’s a public space, and we need to respect that,” V said, asking fans to act with maturity and awareness. Over the years, incidents involving fans approaching BTS members too closely have repeatedly raised concerns about airport safety.
V also took the opportunity to suggest bringing back the “Purple Line”—a 2018 fan-led initiative in which fans held BTS’s signature purple ribbons to maintain orderly paths for the members’ movement through airports.
“If we could bring back the Purple Line, I think I’d feel safer—and then I could actually think about wearing the outfits I want,” he said. With a light-hearted tone, he added, “If you all keep things orderly, maybe I could even wear a full suit.”
V completed his military service on June 10th at the Army’s 2nd Corps in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. He is currently back in the U.S. working alongside BTS members as they prepare for a full-group comeback in 2025. Reports say he briefly returned to Korea for a fellow soldier’s discharge ceremony, and his return has once again stirred excitement among fans eager for updates.
