Serious allegations have emerged just hours before the premiere of Mnet’s new boy group survival show Boys 2 Planet and they’re already causing a stir online.

A post recently surfaced on social media accusing one of the show’s contestants of abusing power and mistreating staff during his time as a trainee named Kim Geun Woo at an entertainment agency. According to the post, the contestant allegedly received excessive favoritism from high-ranking executives, which he reportedly used to his advantage for things such as skipping dance lessons, attending drinking parties and even traveling to Japan with company officials. These trips have sparked suspicion of the possible misuse of company funds.

The whistleblower claimed the contestant was nicknamed the “King” of the agency by other trainees and said, “He knew he was being favored and acted like he was above everyone else, treating some staff like they were beneath him.”

The post went on to detail verbal abuse, quoting the trainee as saying things like, “Who do you think you are, you [expletive]?” and “You useless [expletive], you’re about to get fired.” In one example, he allegedly lashed out over something as small as turning on the air conditioner without asking. The whistleblower said attempts to speak with him only led to arguments, and that several other trainees, unable to tolerate the toxic environment, eventually left the company, paying penalties to break their contracts.

As evidence, the author included medical documents showing payment for psychiatric treatment from August to November 2024 and insurance claims through July 2025. Since the post went up, two more people have come forward, reportedly verifying their claims with entertainment contracts.

Online, the accusations have sparked mixed reactions. Some commenters said, “If it’s true, he should drop out immediately,” and “Imagine how bad it must’ve been for someone to need psychiatric treatment for over a year.” Others, however, are calling for patience, saying, “Let’s wait for an official statement before jumping to conclusions.”
