Cha Eun Woo , currently serving his mandatory military duty, delivered a heartfelt message to fans and colleagues of his upcoming film The First Ride in honor of Korea’s Armed Forces Day on October 1st.
In The First Ride , a tight-knit group of friends of 24 years—Tae Jung ( Kang Ha Neul ), the all-or-nothing guy; Do Jin ( Kim Young Kwang ), the cheerful one; Yeon Min (Cha Eun Woo), the good-looking one; Geum Bok (Kang Young Seok), the guy who sleeps with his eyes open; and Ok Sim (Han Sun Hwa), the lovely one—embark on their first overseas adventure, where the laughs only get bigger when they’re together.

To mark the national holiday, the production unveiled pre-recorded greetings and a handwritten note from Cha Eun Woo, prepared before his enlistment. In the video, he expressed gratitude to his co-stars Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, and Kang Young Seok, as well as director Nam Dae Joong. “I hope audiences will relive the memories, nostalgia, and heat of their school days,” he said, encouraging fans to experience the film on the big screen.
In his handwritten message, Cha added, “’The First Ride’ is a project we filmed with so much joy and effort. Even though I can’t be there in person to promote it, I’ll be cheering on the film from here.”
Billed as a “100% pure comedy,” The First Ride opens in theaters on October 29th.
