Disney Plus has confirmed the release of The Tyrant created by acclaimed director Park Hoon Jung, known for New World and The Witch .
Originally planned as a film, The Tyrant stars Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, and Kim Kang Woo and will debut as a 4-part series in the second half of 2024.
The story kicks off when the last sample of a dangerous program goes missing during delivery, sparking a high-stakes chase. People with conflicting motives converge, each seeking to control or eliminate the program.

Cha Seung Won portrays Im Sang, a former agent tasked with dismantling the program’s network. Kim Seon Ho , fresh off his successful transformation in The Child , plays Choi Jang, a state agency employee secretly running the program. Kim Kang Woo brings the heat as Paul, a foreign intelligence agent determined to destroy the last sample. Rounding out the cast is rising star Jo Yoon Soo as Ja Kyung, a technician hired to retrieve the program.
