Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee have officially been cast in the Korean remake of The Intern , with cameras rolling September 29th. The film, which reimagines the 2015 global hit through a Korean lens, promises a fresh generational dynamic led by two powerhouse stars.

Han So Hee ( Gyeongseong Creature , Project Y ) stars as Sun Woo, the charismatic CEO of fashion label Woo22, who built the brand into a 10 billion KRW (approx. 7.1 million USD) success with lightning speed. Choi Min Sik, one of Korea’s most revered actors ( The Admiral: Roaring Currents , Big Bet , Exhuma ), plays Gi Ho, a retiree who takes on a second act as a senior intern at Woo22. Their unlikely partnership sets the stage for a heartwarming and comedic clash of perspectives.

The supporting cast further enriches the ensemble. Kim Geum Soon ( When Life Gives You Tangerines ) plays Hee Sook, the warm presence behind Woo22’s cafeteria. Kim Joon Han ( Anna , Good Partner ) takes on the role of Woo22’s vice president Young Hwan, while Ryu Hye Young ( Law and the City ) portrays Min Ah, the sharp and capable team manager mentoring Gi Ho. Rising talent Kim Yo Han ( Officer Black Belt ) joins as Ju Sung, Gi Ho’s intern peer, and Park Ye Ni ( A Hundred Memories ) plays Yu Jin, a spirited MD.

Helming the project is director Kim Do Young, acclaimed for Kim Ji Young, Born 1982 . Kim previously won Best New Director at the Baeksang Arts Awards and Chunsa Film Festival, and her nuanced storytelling is expected to bring a socially resonant touch to the remake.
