Han So Hee is once again captivating fans with her impressive artwork shared on social media. The buzz around her artistic talent has also brought a past controversy back into the spotlight and the statements she made about being accepted to a university in France.
The issue first arose after Han So Hee said on Na Young Seok’s YouTube talk show that she was accepted to a French art school but couldn’t actually enroll. She explained, “A visa would only be issued if I had 60 million won ($45,000) in my bank account. I didn’t have that much money back then.”
However, her claim was quickly disputed online by people who had studied in France, many of whom stated that the visa’s financial requirement was not that high.
“While 20 to 30 million won was needed for the bank account, that was nowhere near enough for living expenses and housing right when I got there,” she wrote. Describing her efforts to save up while working part-time, she said it “felt like pouring water into a bottomless pit.”
Her agency, 9ato Entertainment, later released a statement backing her up. They affirmed that “what the actress said on the variety show is exactly as it was” and that “the content she personally spoke about is true,” hoping to put the matter to rest.
