BTS’s Jin recently opened up about his solo debut during a guest appearance on the YouTube channel SalonDrip , hosted by Jang Do Yeon. The episode, released on October 5th, featured a fun and candid conversation with Jin.

Jang Do Yeon kicked things off by asking about Jin’s upcoming solo comeback. “You’re about to make your solo debut. How does it feel to be putting out an album with just your face on the cover?” she asked. Jin revealed his mixed emotions: “There was a time I had to perform just a day after being discharged, and it was nerve-wracking to be without the other members. I didn’t know what to do with the silent moments in between.”

“I was worried, thinking, ‘How will I manage this?’ But then I realized doing it solo was actually quite amazing,” he went on, laughing.

When Jang asked what he enjoyed most, Jin explained, “With group albums, there are so many opinions from the members about how the music and choreography should be. But now? Dance? Leave it out! Schedule? Skip it! I get to decide everything.” He added, “Of course, if fans want something, I’m willing to bring it back. Like this time, I wanted to include a letter to fans, and just one mention, and it happened.”

Jin also emphasized how personal his upcoming album is, saying, “I got to shape everything the way I wanted, so a lot of my own ideas are in there.”

The conversation turned playful when Jang mentioned Jin’s connection to comedian Park Myung Soo. “He bragged about being close to you and said you gifted him this rare makgeolli, only 30 bottles made,” Jang teased. Jin jokingly responded, “I only have about a dozen celebrity contacts, so I thought, ‘Why not share it with them?’ But I think he misunderstood and thought it was something more special.” He then shared a recent exchange with Park, showcasing their friendly rapport.

BTS’ Jin is set to make a guest appearance on The K-Star Next Door .

On Wednesday, a teaser for Jin’s appearance in Season 4 of The K-Star Next Door was released on the Neighborhood Star K channel.

In the teaser, Jin responded to the question, “BTS is known for being like family; is that true?” by saying, “Yes. Considering the time we’ve spent together, we’ve basically been inseparable for nearly 12 years.”

Reflecting on his military discharge ceremony in June, where RM celebrated by playing the saxophone, Jin explained, “Some friends came directly from their military units, so they were in uniform. Those in civilian clothes were on leave.”

When Jonathan remarked, “Isn’t it impressive that they managed to coordinate their schedules while on active duty?” Jin humorously replied, “I had to wait because the guys were late,” which drew laughter from the audience.

But that wasn’t all. When Jonathan asked Jin, as a senior military veteran, to offer encouragement to younger soldiers nearing discharge, Jin showcased his quick wit once again.

Jin corrected him, saying, “That question itself is flawed. None of the members are nearing discharge. They all have hundreds of days left. So, we only have members who are still quite far from their discharge dates,” which made Jonathan laugh.

Jin, who enlisted in December 2022, served as an assistant instructor in the Army’s 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Corps and was the first BTS member to complete military service. Since his discharge, Jin has made numerous appearances on variety shows, showcasing a friendly demeanor. He has participated in his own content, Run Jin , and programs like Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island .

Jin is set to join the Netflix variety show Kian’s Bizarre B&B , and he is also considering a role in Hall of Fame (working title), the new project from director Yoo Ho Jin, who previously directed Unexpected Business . Meanwhile, Jin’s appearance on The K-Star Next Door is scheduled to be released on October 29th.
