Jung Woo Sung stepped onto the red carpet in Busan for his first official appearance since tying the knot. Though known for his warm fan service, Jung looked noticeably slimmer and carried a more reserved, serious expression during the event.
On September 18th, Jung joined fellow honorees at the handprinting ceremony for the 34th Buil Film Awards, held at the Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom. The annual event precedes the awards ceremony and brings together winners from the previous year. Among those in attendance were Jung Woo Sung (Best Actor), Kim Kum Soon (Best Actress), Lim Ji Yeon (Best Supporting Actress), Lee Jun Hyuk (Star of the Year – Male), Shin Hye Sun (Star of the Year – Female), Kim Young Sung (Best New Actor), and Krystal (Best New Actress).
When asked about his return to the festival, Jung shared, “It’s always a joy to be part of the Buil Film Awards at the Busan International Film Festival. As a past winner, I’m honored to present this year. The only regret is that I don’t have a new film to share with audiences this time.”
When the host asked about his upcoming project, Disney Plus original series Made in Korea, the actor sidestepped the question, saying, “It’s not something I can explain with a few words.”
The event also drew buzz for capturing a reunion between Jung and actress Lim Ji Yeon , who had famously applauded him during last year’s Blue Dragon Film Awards not long after his love child scandal broke out. Lim later explained that the moment was spontaneous: “It was just a fleeting gesture. I never expected that kind of public reaction.”
