Jung Woo Sung is set to make his first official public appearance in a year, following a period of intense public scrutiny over his complex personal life. The star will attend a handprinting ceremony for the 33rd Buil Film Awards on September 18th in Busan.
Jung is attending the event as the recipient of last year’s Best Actor award. He will be joined by other past winners, including Kim Geum Soon and Lim Ji Yeon.
The appearance is highly anticipated as it will be his first since a series of shocking revelations about his private life came to light.
The controversy began last November when Jung Woo Sung confirmed he had fathered a son with model Moon Ga Bi . At the time, his agency stated that while they had no plans to marry, he would “fulfill his duties as a father.” Jung himself addressed the news on stage at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, stating, “I will accept all criticism. As a father, I will fulfill my responsibilities to my son until the very end.”
However, the story took a surprising turn when it was recently revealed that he l egally married a different, non-celebrity woman in August, with whom he has been in a long-term relationship. Regarding the marriage, his agency cautiously stated, “This is the actor’s personal matter.”
With his upcoming appearance, all eyes will be on the actor as he steps back into the public spotlight for the first time since the news of his marriage broke.
