Kang Seo Ha (real name Kang Ye Won) has tragically passed away at the age of 31.
Sports Kyunghyang reported that Kang died on the morning of July 14th following a long battle with cancer. A wake is currently being held for her at the funeral hall of Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
The actress had remained committed to her work until recently, having just completed filming a leading role in the upcoming movie In the Net . Friends and colleagues remember her for her bright and warm personality, noting that she continued to care for those around her until the very end. Tributes from close friends have begun to appear on her social media, adding to the profound sense of loss.
A graduate of the prestigious Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama, Kang Seoha began her career in 2012, appearing in the music video for the song “Farther Away” by the group Brave Guys. She made her official acting debut in the JTBC drama Schoolgirl Detectives.
Over the years, she became known for her compelling performances in a number of notable TV series, including KBS’s Assembly , MBC’s Flowers of the Prison , KBS’s First Love Again and Through the Waves , and SBS’s Heart Surgeons and Nobody Knows .
In 2023, she signed with Insight MCN to continue her professional activities.
The funeral procession is scheduled for 7:40 AM on July 16th, passing through Seoul Memorial Park. She will be laid to rest at her family’s ancestral burial ground in Haman, Gyeongnam.
