Netflix has just dropped the teaser trailer for its upcoming sci-fi disaster film, The Great Flood , which hits the platform on December 19th.
Set on the last day on Earth, the film follows a small group of survivors stranded in a sinking apartment building after a catastrophic flood submerges the world.
The teaser opens on a deceptively calm morning for Anna (played by Kim Da Mi ), an artificial intelligence researcher, who is woken up by her son, Ja In. Their peace is quickly shattered as they look outside to see their world consumed by a massive, record-breaking flood. As relentless rain pours down and the water levels rise, the trailer’s intense, realistic feel pulls viewers into their desperate escape, which leads to a tense standoff on the roof where An-na must make an impossible choice.
Their fight for survival is complicated by the arrival of Hee Jo ( Park Hae Soo ), a member of a security team with a mysterious mission that could be the key to humanity’s future. The trailer also hints at bigger mysteries, showing glimpses of a rocket launching into space and unknown golden fragments, promising a story that pushes the boundaries of imagination and survival.
Directed by Kim Byung-woo and driven by compelling performances from stars Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo, this unpredictable tale of survival and sacrifice is one to watch.
The Great Flood will premiere at the Busan International Film Festival before streaming worldwide on Netflix this December 19th.
