SBS has dropped the first teaser for its upcoming fantasy rom-com No Tail to Tell , giving fans a hilarious look at Kim Hye Yoon ‘s unconventional new role.
Set to premiere on January 16th, 2026, the drama stars Kim Hye Yoon as Eun Ho, a modern-day gumiho who has absolutely no desire to become human. Gumiho is a mythical nine-tailed fox from Korean folklore, known for its ability to shapeshift, often into a beautiful woman, to lure and consume human organs or vital energy.
In the teaser released on December 19th, Eun Ho shares her “pro tips” for staying a fox forever. Unlike traditional folklore, this eccentric “MZ generation” gumiho avoids doing good deeds because accumulating virtue might accidentally turn her human. She also strictly avoids major sins to keep her magical powers intact.
“Living as a gumiho means simply enjoying only the fun things without any hardship,” she declares.
Eun Ho also shatters stereotypes about her kind. “Aren’t gumihos supposed to eat human livers? What would I even do with that?” she scoffs, showing off her unique personality.
Her daily routine includes running a “secret business” granting wishes for wealthy humans and adhering to a strict “no flirting” rule. However, her carefree life hits a snag when she meets Kang Si Yeol (played by Lomon ), a world-class soccer player.
The teaser hints at romance, showing a flustered Eun Ho reacting to Kang Si Yeol’s intense gaze. “Are you worried about me right now?” she asks, to which he replies, “Am I not allowed to worry about you?”
The video concludes with the text “Crisis in Maintaining Gumiho Status” and shows Eun Ho asking for Si Yeol’s wish. Viewers are eager to see what kind of fated relationship will unfold between the seemingly mismatched pair: the eccentric MZ Gumiho and the world-class soccer player.
Meanwhile, No Tail to Tell is scheduled to premiere on January 16th, 2026, at 9:50 PM KST.
