Kim Jong Kook may have just tied the knot, but he’s already talking about kids.
Kim married his non-celebrity partner on September 5th in Seoul. During the September 14th episode of SBS’s Running Man , he explained that he had recently filmed a segment with Shorry’s son, which sparked the conversation. “Honestly, daughters are not only cute but easier, too,” he admitted, adding, “I definitely want to have at least one child.”
The conversation turned to his parents’ reaction to the wedding, and Kim said simply, “They’re happy.” Fellow cast members chimed in that his mother must feel both joy and a bit of bittersweetness with famously devoted son now the head of his own family.

Later on My Little Old Boy , Kim addressed curiosity around his wedding guest list and the secrecy surrounding his bride. He laughed off rumors that they had met at the gym, insisting, “She had no connection whatsoever to fitness.” When pressed by Kim Hee Chul about speculation that his wife was a Los Angeles-based businesswoman or an English tutor’s daughter, Kim firmly denied it: “Aside from her gender, none of those stories are true. Not even close.”
He also explained why some colleagues weren’t invited to the ceremony. “If we had held a big wedding, of course I would have invited you guys. But we kept it very small—only about 50 people. It was just family and friends I see at least once a week or keep in touch with regularly.” That list, he added with a smile, even included his gym coach.
The intimate ceremony had Yoo Jae Suk as emcee, and Kim himself took the microphone himself for the wedding song. “I wanted to ask a friend, but Jae Suk said it would be an honor, so he did it. And for the song, I decided to sing one myself,” Kim shared.
