Newlywed singer and TV star Kim Jong Kook has publicly shut down the rampant speculation about his non-celebrity wife.
On the September 11th episode of KBS’s Problem Child in House , Kim Jong Kook addressed the numerous online rumors circulating about his marriage.
“All the rumors are wrong, except for the fact that she’s a woman,” he declared. He firmly denied that his wife is from Los Angeles, that they met at a gym, and that there is a 20-year or more age gap between them.
When fellow cast member Kim Sook asked him to reveal the exact age difference, his expression immediately soured. “What’s wrong with you?” he shot back, before clarifying, “The reason I’m not revealing details is not because there’s a large age gap.”
He then explained the real reason for the secrecy: “It’s not because of me, it’s because of what my wife wants.”
The Running Man star also discussed why he stopped denying marriage rumors prior to the official announcement. “In the past, I would always deny any talk of marriage, but I haven’t done that recently,” he explained, adding that he knew buying a house would fuel speculation.
Kim Jong Kook married his non-celebrity partner in a private ceremony on September 5th.
