Kim Woo Bin recently shared a hilarious story about a prank played on him by none other than his close friend and fellow superstar, Jo In Sung.
He recounted the story during a September 27th appearance on the YouTube show Pinggyego , where he was joined by his co-star, Suzy .
Kim Woo Bin explained that the prank took place while he was doing camera scans for CGI work. “I had to hold a neutral expression for hours,” he said. “Suddenly, a staff member told me, ‘Please smile a little.’”
Confused, Kim ignored the request, but the “staffer” persisted. “A moment later, they repeated, ‘Please take the photo while smiling,’” he recalled. “It had nothing to do with the work, and it wasn’t a situation where I should be smiling, so I started getting frustrated.”
He tried to stay professional and asked, “Why do I need to smile?” The person simply adjusted his clothes and replied, “Smiling makes you feel good, doesn’t it?”
At that point, Kim Woo Bin had had enough. “I thought, ‘This is so weird,’ and then I looked at his face and realized it was Jo In Sung. He had come over from an adjacent set just to play a prank on me,” Kim laughed, as the studio erupted in laughter.
The hosts enjoyed the story. “In Sung almost got embarrassed himself,” remarked Yang Se Chan. Host Yoo Jae Suk also made a pun on Jo In Sung’s name, as “In Sung” in Korean means “personality.” Kim Woo Bin added that, in the end, “thanks to him, the atmosphere on set improved.”
Kim Woo Bin and Suzy were on the show to promote their upcoming Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish .
