Her post follows a recent episode of Heart on Wheels , where Ahn casually mentioned his divorce. Co-star Lee Min Jung gifted him women’s perfume, saying, “Hope you meet someone nice.”
Koo responded, “Even if it’s said for laughs, if the person involved is hurt by it, it should stop. No one has the right to use me as material for entertainment.” She added, “I hope my ex moves forward with his own identity—not using me as a storyline.”
She also pushed back against headlines tagging her with labels like “five years post-divorce,” calling them a form of public “branding.”
“In the end, we reached an agreement that didn’t pursue the question of who was right or wrong. And while it may not have been a true reconciliation, our silence could be seen as an unspoken promise—and, at the very least, a basic act of human decency,” she wrote.
Koo and Ahn met while filming Blood in 2015 and divorced in 2020.
Now, Koo is turning the page. She recently shared that she’s received preliminary venture certification and opened her own office as a startup CEO. She’s also pursuing a master’s degree at KAIST and has patented a self-developed beauty product—a foldable hair roller—slated to launch next year.
