Lee Seung Gi revealed his goal of creating a chart-topping hit within the next five years in the preview for the August 1st episode of Mnet’s music talk show Live Wire .
In the upcoming episode, Lee Seung Gi reunites with legendary rock vocalist Jeon In Kwon of Deulgukhwa. The two first met on a variety show back in 2017 and are now set to share a heartfelt reunion after nearly eight years.
Lee shared that he has recently been scaling back his variety show appearances to focus more on his music career.
“Lately, I’ve been taking time to really look inward,” he revealed. “When I ask myself what truly excites me and brings me the most joy, the answer is always music and singing. I wasn’t born with natural talent, so I’m constantly practicing and even taking vocal lessons.”
This marks his first television appearance since severing ties with his in-laws amid the ongoing legal issues involving his father-in-law.
As he celebrates his 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry, Lee Seung Gi expressed his ambition to create a song that goes beyond his past achievements and becomes a timeless classic.
“My goal is to release a mega-hit within the next five years, one that over 90% of people recognize within the first three seconds,” he said. “I would be so happy if I could create a song that everyone knows.”
