Lee Seung Gi opened up about his life as a new father during a radio appearance that came shortly after his public statement about severing ties with his in-laws.
On the May 7th broadcast of MBC FM4U’s Kim Eana’s Starry Night , the singer-actor shared heartfelt reflections on parenthood. “I think the year since having my child has been the time I’ve felt the most happiness,” the multi-hyphenate confessed. “I used to be somewhat obsessive-compulsive. I had to wake up and immediately go exercise, but since having a child, I spend so much time together with her that naturally, the things I thought I had to do got pushed back—and that actually makes me happy.”
The radio appearance coincided with the release of Lee’s new digital single Empty at 6 PM the same day. Lee personally participated in writing the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of the track, which marks his first new music since last year’s 20th anniversary album With .
Having used With as an opportunity to reflect on his musical journey and reconnect with his roots, Lee plans to accelerate his musical activities with Empty .
Lee Seung Gi married actress Lee Da In , daughter of veteran actress Kyeon Mi Ri, in April 2023, and welcomed a daughter in February 2024.
