In episode 12, viewers saw Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In) and Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min) dive headfirst into romance. The transition from friends to lovers comes with its fair share of awkwardness, as they try to adjust to their new dynamic. The episode achieved an 8.3% average viewership in the Seoul metropolitan area, peaking at 9.1%, while nationwide numbers hit a 7.3% average, with a high of 8.1%. This marks a new all-time high for the series, securing its spot as the No. 1 show in its time slot (based on Nielsen Korea’s data).
A kiss shared between Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu confirmed their feelings for each other, further defining their relationship. When Seok Ryu shyly asked, “What are we now?” Seung Hyo playfully replied, “I don’t kiss my friends,” causing hearts to flutter across living rooms. Back at home, they decide to reveal their romance only to their mutual friend, Jung Mo Eum ( Kim Ji Eun ), while promising to keep things hush-hush from everyone else—for now.

Jung Hae In recently responded to rumors about a potential romance with his Love Next Door co-star, Jung So Min , during a promotional interview for his upcoming film Veteran 2 , aka I, the Executioner .
Jung Hae In explained, “There’s only a one-year age difference between us, and since our characters are childhood friends, I felt that if we didn’t get comfortable with each other, it would show on screen. We all made an effort to get close before shooting began. Neither of us is very outgoing, but when introverts bond, there’s a certain vibe. It’s true that we’ve gotten really comfortable with each other, and that helped us portray that childhood friend dynamic.”
When asked about fans who hope they’re dating, Jung Hae In responded, “I guess it’s because our chemistry is that good.” He added, “People say you can even see it in the behind-the-scenes clips. There’s some promotional content where our chemistry seems strong, which is probably why people are saying that. But really, the chemistry on set was just that great.”
Meanwhile, Jung Hae In is set to return to the big screen with I, the Executioner . This action-packed crime thriller follows veteran detective Seo Do Cheol (Hwang Jung Min) as he teams up with rookie detective Park Seon Woo (Jung Hae In) to track down a notorious serial killer.
