Ok Taecyeon recently opened up about his decision to leave JYP Entertainment and sign with his current agency, which is also home to So Ji Sub .
In the June 9th episode of Shin Dong Yeop’s YouTube show, Ok Taecyeon discussed the factors that influenced his agency move.
“After my time with JYP, I started meeting with other agencies,” he shared. “I had a few conditions, and one of the most important was that I wanted to continue promoting as a member of 2PM.”
Taecyeon revealed that not all companies were supportive of that goal. “There were quite a few agencies that didn’t like the idea. Some even told me to retire from idol activities and focus solely on acting.”
However, his current agency stood out for its open-minded approach. “The CEO told me, ‘It’s totally fine if you want to keep doing music. So Ji Sub does it too, doesn’t he?’” he recalled. “Hearing that gave me a lot of strength. It really meant a lot to have someone who supports what I want to do as an actor and artist.”
