The cast of the highly anticipated K-action series Twelve gave fans a sneak peek into what makes the show this summer’s must-watch series.

Inspired by the Eastern Zodiac, Twelve tells the story of 12 ancient angels who live disguised as humans, tasked with protecting humanity from evil forces. The cast promises a unique blend of mythology, modern action, and time-bending fantasy.

The show’s star, Ma Dong Seok , explained what sets Twelve apart. “You’ll see original superheroes with a distinct Korean flair,” he said. “Our unique lore, using the 12 zodiac signs, will offer fresh entertainment.” Ma Dong Seok is also known to Western audiences as Don Lee from Marvel’s Eternals .

Co-star Park Hyung Sik added, “This fantasy drama unfolds across modern and ancient times. It’s going to be a feast for the senses.” Regina Lei also highlighted the show’s unique premise, calling it “a unique hero universe based on the 12 zodiacs. The cast promised that the action sequences would be just as unique as the characters themselves. Lee Joo Bin explained, “The dynamic relationships between the characters and the action scenes that highlight each one’s individuality are key aspects to watch.” Kang Mi Na added, “The distinctive action styles of each angel will be a major highlight.”

The series premieres on August 23rd on KBS 2TV in Korea and will be available for global streaming on Disney Plus.
