The first photos are in for the upcoming caper comedy Confidence Queen , showcasing the electric chemistry between stars Park Min Young, Park Hee Soon, Joo Jong Hyuk, and Jung Woong In at the drama’s first table read. The highly anticipated weekend series is set to premiere on September 6th.
Confidence Queen is a detective comedy drama about a trio of talented con artists who team up for a revenge mission against the corrupt villains of society. The series promises a thrilling and cathartic experience as the quirky and lively team targets only the worst of the worst in society. The project is helmed by director Nam Ki Hoon of Big Bet and writer Hong Seung Hyun of Criminal Minds .
At the script reading, the all-star cast delivered passionate performances. Park Min Young is set to break free from her rom-com image as she transforms into the queen of detective dramas. She confidently said, “I will dedicate myself and work hard,” before fully embodying the vibrant con artist leader, Yoon Yi Rang. With an IQ of 165, the character is a top-tier genius, and Park perfectly captured her sharp expressions and intense dialogue.
Park Hee Soon brings a cool, nonchalant gentleman vibe to his character, James, the seasoned core of the con team. With a trustworthy tone, he showcased James’s multifaceted charm, from his effortless camaraderie with the team to his subtle humor and charisma.

Joo Jong Hyuk of Extraordinary Attorney Woo , who plays the team’s innocent youngest member, Myung Goo Ho, added warmth to the set with his immersive and realistic performance.
Jung Woong In, who will play the drama’s first major villain, drew laughter with his ambitious declaration: “I will do my wicked best.” His performance during the read was chillingly intense, raising anticipation for the villains the team will face.
The production team shared, “The script reading was a great first meeting that left everyone with a positive feeling. We are confident that the actors’ fantastic teamwork will be captured on screen. Please look forward to it.”
