Park Min Young ‘s drama Confidence Queen is officially changing its time slot after struggling in the weekend ratings war. TV Chosun announced on September 15th that the show will move from its original 9:10 PM airtime to a later slot at 10:30 PM KST.
The move is widely seen as a strategic retreat to avoid direct competition with tvN’s powerhouse drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. The Yoona-led series airs in the same time slot and has been a ratings juggernaut, recently hitting a new peak of 15.4%.
However, Confidence Queen premiered to just 1.1% before its ratings dropped to a dismal 0.9% by the fourth episode.
Confidence Queen is a caper comedy about a team of con artists who target the rich and corrupt. The show has been highly anticipated, as it marks Park Min Young’s first project since her hit drama Marry My Husband last year.
With the show now moved out of the path of its biggest competitor, all eyes are on whether the time slot change can help Confidence Queen find its audience and rebound in the ratings.
