tvN has unveiled the first script reading for its new weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong (literal title), premiering in January 2026.
Set in the late 1990s, the retro office comedy follows Hong Geum Bo (Park Shin Hye)—a 30-something elite securities investigator—who goes undercover as a 20-year-old rookie at a brokerage firm after detecting suspicious cash flows. Director Park Sun Ho (Business Proposal, Suspicious Partner) teams with writer Moon Hyun Kyung for a fresh spin on end-of-century office comedy.
At the first read-through, Park Shin Hye (Hong Geum Bo), Go Kyung Pyo (Shin Jung Woo), Ha Yoon Kyung (Go Bok Hee), Cho Han Gyeol (Albert Oh), Choi Ji Su (Kang Nora), and Kang Chae Young (Kim Mi Sook) filled the room with energy.

Park Shin Hye immediately showed off her duality, effortlessly jumping between polished career woman Hong Geum Bo and fresh-faced 20-year-old Hong Jang Mi. Her quick switch pulled everyone in, earning a collective “of course, that’s Park Shin Hye.”
Go Kyung Pyo made an impression as Shin Jung Woo, a numbers-only management consultant and the newly appointed CEO of Hanmin Securities. His steady rhythm and restrained delivery reimagined the charisma and workaholic edge of a ’90s finance executive.

Ha Yoon Kyung added spark as Go Bok Hee, the CEO’s trusted secretary and the “room 301 big sister” to undercover Geum Bo. Calling Bok Hee “ambitious but lovable,” she teased that her dynamic with Park Shin Hye will be a major fun point.
Cho Han Gyeol dove in as Albert Oh—a cinephile and free-spirited grandson of chairman Kang Pil Beom (Lee Deok Hwa) who slides into the office on pure silver-spoon privilege. Choi Ji Su and Kang Chae Young play Kang Nora and Kim Mi Sook, Geum Bo’s dorm roommates, forming the show’s core four-woman friendship lineup.
Adding more buzz, ITZY’s Yuna makes a special appearance as Hong Jang Mi, injecting extra energy into the ’90s office world.
After the reading, Park Shin Hye said, “Every character fits so well. I’m excited for the undercover missions — please look forward to it.” Go Kyung Pyo added, “It’s an honor. We’ll make it fun to watch.”
