Seven O′Clock Breakfast Club for the Brokenhearted held its world premiere at the 30th Busan International Film Festival to an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience, with particular praise heaped on star Suzy for what many are calling a career-best performance.
Following the screening on September 22nd, director Im Sun Ae and actors Lee Jin Wook, Yoo Ji Tae and Geum Sae Rok participated in a post-screening Q&A to discuss the emotional romance film.

“While there are many works that deal with love, it felt special to address the process after a breakup,” Lee Jin Wook stated, explaining why he chose the project. “Such scenes were well captured in the film, making it feel even sadder.”

Yoo Ji Tae expressed his deep affection for the movie, remarking, “Ji Hoon’s final line in the movie felt truly healing. It seems like a film that effectively conveys the emotions remaining after loving and separating.” Geum Sae Rok added, “The word ‘trace’ came to my mind frequently. The moment of confronting traces, and the process of creating new traces while erasing old ones, was very impressive.”
Audience reactions on social media were immediate and effusive. “I liked that it wasn’t just a calm love story but a film that delicately handled pain,” one viewer praised. Another declared, “This movie was the best at this year’s BIFF.”
Many reviews centered on Suzy, who unfortunately couldn’t be at the Q&A but whose performance dominated the conversation. “Suzy in Seven O′Clock Breakfast Club for the Brokenhearted is insane, how can a person be so beautiful? The movie was so good… I decided to stay an extra day in Busan because of this, which was absolutely the right decision.” one person wrote. Another commented, “Just marvel at Suzy’s face, everyone. This movie is really well-made.”

One audience member praised her growth as an actress: “It was wonderful to see Suzy’s beauty and acting on the big screen. After Anna, watching this film made me feel like Suzy has reached a new level in her acting.”
