SHINee’s Taemin is reportedly parting ways with SM Entertainment after 16 years and is in talks with Big Planet Made Entertainment, according to a report yesterday by Sports News.
Taemin debuted with Shinee in 2008 and has been with SM Entertainment ever since. However, their exclusive contract is set to expire, and both parties have reportedly decided not to renew it for individual activities.
Despite the change, Shinee’s group activities will continue as usual under SM Entertainment.
While reports initially suggested Taemin might sign with Big Planet Made, a representative from the agency stated to Maeil Business Newspaper yesterday that “nothing has been decided” regarding his transfer.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions to the news, with some expressing sadness at his departure from SM and others excited to see his future endeavors.
