Acclaimed screenwriter Kim Eun Hee confirmed the exciting news of a second season for Signal .
Writer Kim Eun Hee’s agency, Media Lab Siso, confirmed to iMBC Entertainment on March 14th that she’s currently developing Season 2 of the hit drama.
The news of Signal Season 2’s production was first mentioned by Kim Eun Hee herself during a lecture at La Sapienza University in Italy yesterday. The production is reportedly underway in collaboration with Bient Entertainment, Kim’s partners on SBS drama Revenant .
In 2021, the writer expressed her willingness to produce a sequel to Signal in a media interview. She said, “There are still stories left to tell. I will try my best to show them before I retire.”
Signal first aired in 2016. It follows detectives from the present and past who connect through a walkie-talkie and reinvestigate old unsolved cases. Starring Lee Je Hoon , Kim Hye Soo , and Cho Jin Woong , the show left a lasting impression with its gripping story, and fans have been eagerly requesting a sequel since its conclusion.
