Netflix has confirmed production of its new original series Road (working title), announcing a powerhouse cast led by Son Suk Ku , Eita Nagayama, Kim Shin Rock, Choi Sung Eun , and Jung Jae Young.

The series follows a string of gruesome murders that unfold across borders. In Tokyo, police discover a grotesquely twisted body with a Korean phrase scrawled in blood next to it—sending shockwaves through Japan. Soon after, a nearly identical crime surfaces in Korea, this time accompanied by a Japanese message. Authorities in both countries quickly realize they are dealing with the same serial killer, and two detectives from opposite sides of the sea must join forces to track the murderer down.

The project marks the latest work from director Han Jun Hee, best known for Netflix’s D.P. , the film Coin Locker Girl , and as creator of the Weak Hero Class series. Han teams up with screenwriter Jo Yoo Jin of Pilot to adapt the acclaimed Korean-Japanese joint manga Blue Road , reshaping the original into a high-tension police procedural with his signature cinematic flair. “It’s a transnational detective drama that follows two cops giving everything they’ve got to catch a killer,” Han explained.

The casting lineup is equally eye-catching. Son Suk Ku ( A Killer Paradox , D.P. , Nine Puzzle ) plays the Korean detective, while Eita Nagayama ( Memories of Matsuko , Nodame Cantabile , The Best Divorce ) portrays his Japanese counterpart.
