The individual who accused Song Ha Yoon of school violence has announced he will sue the actress and her law firm upon arriving in South Korea. The accuser, a U.S. citizen, claims the bullying occurred when they were high school students.
The accuser posted a statement online today outlining his plans for public legal action. In the post, he refuted claims made by Song’s legal team and detailed the upcoming lawsuits.
He stated his intention to file a criminal complaint against Song for a variety of charges, including false accusation, defamation and threatening. He also plans to file a separate civil lawsuit for damages.
According to the accuser, the situation escalated after he tried to settle the matter privately on July 9th. He claims that instead of resolving the issue, Song’s representatives demanded he issue a written apology admitting his accusations were false. When he refused, they allegedly filed additional charges against him on July 22nd.
To support his case, the accuser has requested school records to prove that Song Ha Yoon was forced to transfer high schools in 2004. “I received a decision to withhold the document, not that the document did not exist,” he explained, calling it “an administrative acknowledgment that the document in question does exist.”
The accuser asserted that he initially did not want the dispute to escalate but felt forced to act after Song’s team attempted to “‘socially bury’ me by framing me as a ‘criminal.’” He added, “This is an organized retaliation aimed at socially eliminating a public interest whistleblower.”
The accuser is now preparing to travel to South Korea at the request of investigators and announced he will release a fourth statement on August 25th.
