Netflix’s new fantasy rom-com Genie, Make a Wish is turning heads — not just for its leads Kim Woo Bin and Suzy, but for a string of surprise cameos from some of Korea’s biggest stars.
Released on October 3rd, the series follows Genie ( Kim Woo Bin ), a lamp genie who awakens after a thousand years, and Ga Young ( Suzy ), a human with no emotional range. What unfolds is a whimsical, heartfelt story of three wishes, fate, and unlikely chemistry.
The main cast—Kim Woo Bin, Suzy, Ahn Eun Jin, Noh Sang Hyun, Ko Kyu Pil, and Lee Joo Young—brings dynamic energy to every scene. Kim Woo Bin and Suzy reinvent the rom-com duo with their “terribly adorable” chemistry, while Ahn Eun Jin’s mysterious character Mi Joo deepens the emotional stakes. Ko Kyu Pil steals scenes with his trademark comedic timing, and Lee Joo Young earns fresh praise for a strikingly new role.

But the show’s hidden cards— Song Hye Kyo , Daniel Henney and Kim Ji Hoon —are also sparking big buzz. Song Hye Kyo transforms into Jiniya, the rain-wielding genie and Genie’s ex-girlfriend, flaunting goddess-like visuals and an effortless blend of humor and allure opposite Kim Woo Bin and Suzy. Daniel Henney takes on a bold new role as Kim Gae, a character entangled in the wager between Genie and Ga Young, while Kim Ji Hoon plays his loyal knight, rounding out the trio’s standout dynamic.
