Kim So Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop are set to captivate audiences with their new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Serendipity’s Embrace , where their intertwined memories spark a heart-fluttering transformation.
In the teasers, Hong Ju and Hu Yeong recall their 19-year-old selves in contrasting ways. The voiceover, “Memories are incomplete,” deepens the intrigue around their past romance. In one teaser, Hong Ju vividly remembers giving Hu Yeong love letters in various places like the hallway, playground, and outside the restroom. To Hu Yeong, the 19-year-old Hong Ju was a sincere, quirky, and bold girl in love. Her declaration, “I’m here to confess. Let’s go! For love,” captures the pure and straightforward passion of first love.
However, the 29-year-old Hong Ju has changed. Once a bright and candid lover, she has become cynical about love, dismissing first love as “something you do without knowing better.” Her reunion with Hu Yeong, who remembers their teenage years vividly, stirs unexpected feelings. Hu Yeong’s comment, “You’re thinking about me right now,” ignites a spark in Hong Ju’s heart, hinting at an exciting transformation.
In Hu Yeong’s teaser, we see how Hong Ju recalls the 19-year-old Hu Yeong as a smart but cold, child-like boy. But contrary to her belief that he’s never liked anyone, Hu Yeong cherished a photo of a young Hong Ju, smiling at the memory. His confession, “I like you,” adds to the anticipation of what happened during their teenage years.
