tvN’s new Monday–Tuesday drama Spring Fever is off to a solid start, posting mid-4% ratings in its premiere week and quickly building buzz for its warm, romance-forward storytelling.

According to Nielsen Korea, the drama’s first episode, which aired on May 5th, recorded a 4.8% nationwide viewership rating, followed by 4.6% for episode two.

Episode one introduced high school teacher Yoon Bom, played by Lee Joo Been, who relocates to a rural town, and Sun Jae Gyu, a devoted local with a quietly intense streak portrayed by Ahn Bo Hyun. Their first encounter is anything but smooth: Bom is taken aback by Jae Gyu’s rough first impression, only to see his unexpected softer side when he defends her after the school principal orders her to fetch coffee—instantly setting the stage for intrigue between the two.

In episode two, Jae Gyu uses a money tree plant he gifted Bom as an excuse to casually insert himself into her life, remarking, “Guess we’re on a first-name basis now.” Bom, meanwhile, becomes the advisor for Jae Gyu’s nephew Han Gyeol’s school energy club, pulling her back into his orbit. Though she initially tries to avoid him, her guard gradually lowers as she finds herself drawn in.
