Suzy ’s affection for comfort food is still going strong.
On October 1st, Suzy appeared as a guest on Chef Sung Anh’s YouTube channel, where she joined him in the kitchen. While cooking, Suzy revealed that her mother has always been a great cook. Chef Sung Anh noted, “There’s nothing better than having a mother who cooks well.”
Suzy shared that her mom once ran a snack shop, which sparked her lifelong love of ramen and tteokbokki. Not long ago, she appeared on the YouTube show Pinggyego, confessing she even swapped out her three daily meals just to eat ramen.
The singer-actress has previously spoken about her mother’s hard work running the shop: “When I first debuted, my income was split among the four members. But once my earnings grew, I was able to help. My mom had worked so hard at the snack shop, so I changed it into a small café for her so she could finally do what she wanted.”
Beyond her family’s roots, Suzy has also become a bona fide property owner. She purchased a luxury villa in Seoul’s Gangnam district for 3.09 billion KRW (approx. 2.2 million USD), which has since risen to around 5.8 billion KRW in value—an increase of 2.7 billion KRW in just six years. In 2016, she also acquired a five-story building in Samseong-dong for 3.7 billion KRW; the property is now valued at around 8 billion KRW.
