When singer Kim Jong Kook recently shared a video of his wedding on his YouTube channel, fans of the hit show Running Man immediately noticed a key person was missing: his longtime friend and former castmate, Lee Kwang Soo . His absence quickly sparked curiosity and speculation online.
The mystery has now been solved. According to a new report, Lee Kwang Soo was invited to the wedding but had to miss the event due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict.
Kim Jong Kook’s wedding was held at a hotel in Seoul’s Gangnam district on September 5th. It was an intimate, high-security ceremony with about 100 guests, mostly close friends and family. A video posted to Kim’s YouTube channel on September 11th showed a star-studded guest list, including Running Man members Yoo Jae Seok, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Song Ji Hyo,and Yang Se Chan. Also in attendance were Cha Tae Hyun, Jang Hyuk and Hong Kyung Min and other celebrity pals like Seo Jang Hoon and Joo Woo Jae.
The absence of Lee Kwang Soo was particularly surprising, given that he and Kim worked side-by-side on Running Man for 11 years, from 2010 to 2021. This led some fans to wonder if he hadn’t been invited.
However, it’s now confirmed that Lee Kwang Soo’s absence was simply due to a prior work commitment. He was in Vietnam for promotional activities for his upcoming movie, Love Barista . The film, in which he plays the lead role, is scheduled for release in Vietnam this October.
