With only two episodes left, tvN’s weekend drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has viewers hooked on the deepening romance between YoonA and Lee Chae Min .
In episode 10, which aired September 21st, Yeon Ji Young (YoonA) cleared her name from an attempted poisoning charge with Prince Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min) at her side. The episode ended on a sweet note as their relationship blossomed into full romance, leaving audiences swooning.
The response was strong. According to Nielsen Korea, the series scored a 5.7% average and 6.1% peak among tvN’s key 20–49 demo in the Seoul metro area, while nationwide ratings hit an average of 6.1% and a high of 6.6%—ranking No. 1 across all channels in its timeslot.
At the end of the episode, Heon staged a private performance under the moonlight just for Ji Young and confessed, “Become my wife.” His heartfelt proposal came with a promise: if she would stay, he would cook her bibimbap every morning. The sincerity of the vow moved Ji Young deeply, making her wonder, “Even if I don’t return to my own time and world, maybe it would be all right.”
Fans lit up social media after the episode: “Casting change to Lee Chae Min was a stroke of genius,” “Please give us a modern-day Season 2,” “A king promising bibimbap every morning? Instant yes,” and “That was the most emotional, beautiful, and heart-fluttering proposal scene I’ve ever seen.”
As Ji Young begins to waver about returning to her own time, speculation is rising about the ending. Viewers wrote, “In the original novel, YoonA goes back to the present and Chae Min—don’t know if it’s his reincarnation—appears in front of her, showing her the final page of the Mangunrok,” and, “Since some of the historic details have already shifted, maybe instead of being forced off the throne, he’ll abdicate himself and follow her to the present.” Others suggested, “They’ll reunite one way or another,” and, “Maybe we’ll see them adjust to modern life together.”
With just two episodes left, all eyes are on how Bon Appétit, Your Majesty will wrap its time-slip romance. Episode 11 airs September 27th at 9:10 PM KST.
