Yoon Eun Hye is set to shock viewers by candidly revisiting the traumas she endured during her Baby V.O.X. years.

The actress and former idol appears as a guest on the September 11th broadcast of SBS’s A Story about the Day , which focused on the violent history of so-called “yongyeok gangsters”—enforcers notorious in the 1990s for brutal acts carried out during Seoul’s redevelopment projects. These enforcers, often operating with tacit support from authorities, committed crimes ranging from beatings and property destruction to attacks on schoolchildren and pregnant women, and even sexual violence. One veteran reporter, known for covering war zones abroad, even likened the demolition sites to “battlefields.”

In the episode, Yoon is expected to show deep empathy for the suffering of displaced residents. “Their pain is beyond comparison,” she says in a preview, before carefully adding, “but I also went through a difficult time with trauma.”

She will also reveal shocking experiences from her idol career: “During Baby V.O.X. activities, I was once hit with a water gun filled with acid and nearly lost my sight. I was also pelted with raw eggs. Those incidents left me struggling, and the memories remain traumatic even now.”

In another preview, Yoon becomes visibly emotional as she reflects: “The residents endured far worse—constant violence, verbal abuse, and sexual assault. That kind of pain can’t be described in words.” She also doesn’t hold back her anger, remarking, “They should all go to prison. With what they did, they should be locked up.”

The episode of Unanswered Questions airs tonight, September 11th, at 10:20 PM KST on SBS.
